Which types of load require "surge rating" inverter/UPS?
Resistive load (like incandescent lamp, toaster, iron etc) does not require extra power to start comparing steady running. Its starting power(surge rating) is the same as running power, but capacitive load & inductive load will generate a very big impacting current or voltage when start, they require an according current or voltage to compensate, this process lasts may be 5 seconds, once they are running steady, their working power is the rated power as label.
So capacitive load & inductive load require inverter/UPS to have surge protection, usually POCASA’s pure sine wave inverter may achieve crest ratio at 3:1.
